We are delighted to invite you to our Harvest Gathering Weekend in Kerry, hosted by The Kerry Biosphere, Transition Kerry and Kerry County Council.
This is a weekend event filled with connection, inspiration and immersion in nurturing places with talks, walks and workshops in various locations, there is something for everyone.
Over the weekend we are offering a variety of workshops to get you outdoors exploring the landscape and immersing yourself in the unique nature of Kerry.
Workshops are offered in three time blocks over the weekend, each workshop will run for two hours. you can only attend one option from each time slot. There is a charge of €10 per person for each workshop.
The Saturday evening talks are taking place in Anam in Killarney. These are free of charge, but booking is required.
Saturday morning from 10:30am- 12:30pm
- Birds of the Seashore with Ed Carty
- Beach workshop with Louise Overy, Irish Elasmobranch Group
- Composting and reducing your waste with Donal O’ Leary, Waste Down
Saturday Afternoon from 3pm -5pm
- Creative Entomology with Nessa Darcy
- Urban Biodiversity, With Ger Scollard, Irish Wildlife Trust
- Woodland Ecology with Jason Lyne, National Parks and Wildlife Service
Sunday Morning from 10:30am-12:30pm
- Upland Ecology and Management with Ronan O’ Connor, Development Officer with the MacGillycuddy Reeks Mountain Access Forum and ? Ecologist from ACRES.
- Family Fun day on the Bog with Killarney National Park Education Centre
- Creative Entomology with Nessa Darcy
- Water quality and kick sampling with LAWPRO Officier Colum Walsh
How it works:
For each workshop time block you can attend one workshop. Each workshop will run for two hours.
The evening event is free to attend please book your space as places are limited due to venue size.
