We are glad to report that our rainwater planters are thriving and it was worth waiting for native plant species to become available. Ragged Robin brings a pretty shade of pink, while Yellow Flag Iris beams a bright yellow flower. Water Mint brings a freshness and a hint of colour to the planters. The photo attached illustrates our largest planter to date, at Loughquitane Primary School, Killarney.
Even in the exceptionally dry weather, the robust species planted are holding strong. we are hoping that the plants will grow large and the planters will be awash with native species. The planter at Loughquitane gets equal measure of sunlight and shade owing to its location between two school buildings. We hope the planter brings joy to the students and staff at the school and a food source for pollinators.
