We are delighted to have hosted five days of field training paired with 12.5 hours of e-learning for our LEADER-funded Biodiversity Training. LEADER funding has enabled us to provide a biodiversity-themed training course for community group members from across the County.
Under the capable hands of Yosef from Habitat for Knowledge, we assembled a group of twenty participants. Yosef led the training, which focused on the concept of citizen science and knowledge sharing. The aim of the training provided was to equip participants with the baseline knowledge on biodiversity, the negative impacts that affect our natural heritage, and potential positive impacts we can have on these features. We will soon be rolling out the remaining e-learning sessions, which will feature guest speakers from a range of disciplines relating to biodiversity in Kerry and beyond. The Kerry Biosphere is graciously grateful to LEADER for enabling us to fund this initiative, and to Habitat for Knowledge for providing such a skilled yet accessible training course for our participants.
