First Webinar in the Tri-Biosphere Webinar series - Birds of the Biosphere
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the UNESCO Man and Biosphere Programme, The Dublin Bay Biosphere - in partnership with BirdWatch Ireland – hosted a very special webinar.
BirdWatch Ireland’s ‘Dublin Bay Birds Project’ – supported by Dublin Port Company. This webinar aims to share with you the diverse birdlife of the bay across all seasons.
This webinar is the first in a series to be delivered by the three neighbouring Biospheres: the Kerry Biosphere Reserve, Dublin Bay Biosphere Reserve and the Isle of Man Biosphere Reserve.
This series will run throughout 2021 with a webinar each month hosted by one of the participating Biospheres.
Here's some of the feedback from our 'Birds of the Biosphere' Webinar, if you haven't seen it yet you can check it out here.
"Massive thank you to the Dublin BirdWatch Ireland team for their expertise. The zoom session was brilliant with superb and highly knowledgeable presenters and even a live outside broadcast that added very much to the enjoyment. It was great to hear that some schools were interested in seeing the u-tube recording: we will be sending this to our two grandchildren. They are both keen birdwatchers and love all forms of wildlife so it will suit both of them. We have been giving both of them gift membership of BirdWatch Ireland for several years. Please pass our thanks and congratulations on to all the team of presenters."
Many thanks, Rob and Marie, Clonmel, Co Tipperary
"Hello Dean, Jo and Eleanor, My name is Anne and I’d just like to thank you all for the most enjoyable and informative webinar yesterday. I’m based in Waterville in Kerry, I have a huge interest in my garden birds and the coastal birds but sadly know very little about the different species. Your webinar has enthused me to join Birdwatch Ireland and to start observing and educating myself in matters ornithological!! Thank you all so much for the time, energy and dedication involved in presenting these webinars. Just wanted to express my gratitude and I look forward to Eleanor’s session. Gach rath ar an obair."
Anne, Waterville, Kerry
"Just to say to Dean and the biosphere team that I was delighted today to see a flock of Brent flying over Clonskeagh in the direction of the bay and I heard them also. The talk yesterday helps to appreciate how lucky we are to have this wildness all about us."
Catherine, Dublin
"Thank you for an excellent presentation. I found it fascinating as someone who lives on the edge of the biosphere and visits it every day on foot. I watched it with my grandchildren - 9 and 6, they found the visual presentation very interested and watched a good 40 minutes. I wonder if a “Junior” version could be adapted for schools?"
