Join us for a walk in the MacGillycuddys Reeks to learn about Kerrys Upland Birds.

This walk will be led by Dr. Allan Mee and ornithologist with many years experience surveying bird species in the MacGillycuddy Reeks.


Recently Allan has been conducting surveys for grouse and other species in this area as part of the ongoing Birds of the Kerry Biosphere project hosted by the Kerry Biosphere Reserve and funded by the Department of Housing, local government and Heritage, Kerry County Council and Creative Ireland.

This event will take place on the 7th of May from 9.30am sharp to 12pm.


We will walk a section of the track from Cronin's yard towards the Hags Glen, suitable outdoor clothing and footwear will be required.


The event will begin in Cronin's Yard, parking is available, you will need a €2 coin for parking.


Suitable for adults and children over 12 years.


This event is weather dependant, if bad weather is forecast we will reschedule for another day.
