We were thrilled to welcome Mr Féidhlim Harty to the Kerry Biosphere once again. Féidhlim hosted an interesting and relevant workshop in the beautiful surroundings of Killarney House on the morning of Thursday August 28th. We went into depth on topics such as managing stormwater and wastewater in sustainable, cost effective ways that are low impact on our natural resources.
We indulged in the sweet treats and potent coffee provided by the reliable O'Donoghue Ring Collection and lapped up Féidhlim's presentation. It's fair to say that participants left with more than a little knowledge on the pressures on our natural watercourses and attainable methods to tackle these pressures. Participants are encouraged to maintain contact with the Kerry Biosphere and Féidhlim with any potential projects relating to tackling water issues in your locality. Our rainwater planters are fully functional now their installation has been a huge success. Féidhlim's website is well worth a visit: www.wetlandsystems.ie Féidhlim's work covers important topics such as rewilding, waterway rewilding, farming with nature, and habitat creation (including ponds).
