Our wonderful bat sculpture is still wowing library visitors throughout the County. Having spent 18 months between Tralee and then Killarney Libraries, our sculpture has ventured further north to the literary capital of Ireland, the lovely Listowel.
The big move from Killarney to Listowel was made just before the Christmas break to enable the busy team in Listowel to prepare a suitable display for the sculpture. The eagerness and enthusiasm from the Listowel Library team made for a just and seamless move. We are very grateful to the teams in Tralee and Killarney Libraries also for hosting the sculpture and displaying impressive arrays of bat literature and biodiversity offerings also. What makes our sculpture so special is not just the obvious aesthetic brilliance, but the sculpting of the bat using recycled materials, repurposing disused items and embracing sustainability. The Kerry Biosphere is proud to be associated with such a magnificent piece of art. We want to express a huge thank you to the Listowel Library for providing such an interesting and focal location for the sculpture among the extensive array of biodiversity themed literature that the library boasts.
