In 2026 the Kerry Biosphere will have finalised the list of groups that form the Biosphere's Advisory Council. The Advisory Council was formed as a commitment outlined in the 2017 Periodic Review prepared for the Kerry UNESCO Biosphere reserve.

The Council is formed of local groups that function in the Biosphere region. The Council meets online three times a year and there is an option for an annual in-person meeting also. The function of the Advisory Council is to have local representation for the Biosphere. The Advisory Council provides a consultation forum for the various stakeholders and it will liaise with the Biosphere Management Council through the Biosphere Officer. The Council also aims to encourage participation from groups and stakeholders that occur outside the 'Core Area' of the Biosphere reserve.

If you are a member of group based within the Biosphere Region, please consider contacting the Kerry Biosphere reserve to participate in our Advisory Council. You can contact the Biosphere Officer at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., thank you.
